Gunna’s DS4Ever Turns 4: The Album That Took Over 2022

On this day 4 years ago (Jan. 7, 2022), YSL’s Gunna dropped his third studio album DS4Ever, a full-on Drip Season victory lap that had the streets and the charts moving at the same time.

Packed with heavy features from Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Drake, Kodak Black, Chlöe, Lil Baby, G Herbo, Nechie, Chris Brown, Yung Bleu, and Roddy Ricch, the project didn’t just make noise; it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving Gunna his second chart-topping album.

And years later, the rollout still gets talked about: in late August 2025, alleged leaked jail-call audio circulated where Young Thug claimed he paid $50,000 worth of streams to help DS4Ever lock in the No. 1 spot over The Weeknd’s Dawn FM, a claim that’s been widely discussed but remains an allegation tied to the leaked call.
