Junk & IM’PERETIV Ask “Who’s in the Mirror?” on the Fourth Single From 'Together in Pieces V'

Vancouver rapper Junk and award-winning Canadian producer IM’PERETIV continue the rollout of their collaborative project Together in Pieces V with “Who’s in the Mirror,” the fourth single from the five-track release.
Where the earlier singles have explored wealth, ambition, travel and survival, “Who’s in the Mirror” turns the focus inward. Built around the question of who you become as you get older, the record examines changing relationships, personal growth, loyalty and the realization that sometimes the people around you no longer belong in the next chapter of your life.
The song opens with a simple question: “When you get older, you gon’ see, man…” From there, Junk reflects on the process of outgrowing people, recognizing when relationships have changed and having the courage to cut ties when they begin holding you back.
The mirror becomes a metaphor for accountability. The record isn't simply about identifying the people who need to be removed from your circle. It also asks whether you have changed, and whether the person looking back at you is still the same person who started the journey.
That tension runs throughout the song. Junk examines the difference between loyalty and familiarity, the difficulty of letting go of relationships built over years, and the uncomfortable realization that personal growth can sometimes mean leaving parts of your old life behind.
Produced by IM’PERETIV, “Who’s in the Mirror” continues the gritty, cinematic sound established throughout Together in Pieces V. Heavy drums and a dark, atmospheric backdrop give Junk room to approach the subject with a combination of reflection and directness, keeping the record grounded in the raw, independent Hip Hop aesthetic that defines the project.
“Who’s in the Mirror” arrives following the completion of the 555 Ontario Tour, which brought Junk, IM’PERETIV and J.WNTR through five Ontario cities for five shows in September. The tour gave the collaborators an opportunity to bring Together in Pieces V directly to audiences across the province, including a limited run of physical CDs made specifically for the tour.
The single is the fourth release from Together in Pieces V, following “Still Wealthy,” “Out West” and “Hantavirus” feat. Daniel Son. With four of the project's five tracks now available, the full Together in Pieces V EP is set for release on October 2, 2026.
Together in Pieces V continues a collaborative series that began in 2019. The five-track project features production entirely by IM’PERETIV, with executive production from Junk, IM’PERETIV and Jamie Kuse. The project was engineered, mixed and mastered by Jamie Kuse at Nova Studios.
“Who’s in the Mirror” is out now.
