Morgan Bullock Starts New Trend By Combing Hip-Hop and Irish Dance

There are few dance styles more hypnotising than Irish dancing, thanks to the fast footwork, dramatic thuds on the hard flooring, and impeccable timing to traditional music.

Deep rooted in Irish culture, the music is a huge part of the Irish dancing world, but new and emerging dance talents are taking these traditional steps and combining them with modern music. That's exactly what dancer Morgan Bullock does. The 20-year-old from Virginia, US, decided to combine hard shoe steps with Beyoncé remix of Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage", and we're in total awe. Originally posted on TikTok, Bullock has since shared the clip on her Instagram captioned, "you know I had to gallop to thee stallion". Although the clip is fewer than 20 seconds, it has already been viewed over 260,000 times and reshared by other dance icons, like principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre Isabella Boylston.

Not only is the traditional steps and hip-hop music mash-up incredibly entertaining and catchy but the combination of cultures is also something that's needed in the global Irish dance community. The comments in response to Bullock's videos reflect that, "You are everything Irish dancing needs 🔥🔥🔥," one person wrote.

This isn't her first modern dance mash-up; Bullock has also created dances to Drake's "Toosie Slide", Doja Cat's "Like That", and Koffee's "Rapture". Ahead, watch more of Bullock's incredible Irish dance mash-ups and we hope there are many more to come because we could watch her clips on repeat all day long.
