Philadelphia Rapper HOOD TALI Releases New Project 'Murder Rate Music'

“... Hood Tali’s raps sound like a mob boss’ monologue.” - The Fader

“... a breath of fresh air on the rap scene, equipped with his own storytelling as he navigates the transition of leaving the streets behind and focusing on his professional rap career.”

[PHILADELPHIA, PA - December 13, 2023]  Philadelphia rapper Hood Tali released his new project, ‘Murder Rate Music,’ today. The 13-track offering is Tali’s first new project since ‘Top Opp,’ and comes after the stand-out single “Belt To Ass.”

Tali establishes the project's tone with the opening track, “No Lackin!!!”, which shares gritty lyrics over a hard-hitting beat. “Belt To Ass” and “Moneyun” further underscore Tali’s reputation as a Philly street heavyweight and come after “Lie 2 Me” and “Call the Play,”  released this summer. Last year saw the release of Tali’s project ‘Top 0pp,’ which includes popular songs  “Dead Man!” and the title track, “Top Opp.”

With ‘Murder Rate Music,’ Tali is declaring himself to be the leader of Philly’s new drill wave. Through his music, he transcends his life circumstances and highlights his creativity. “I’m very outspoken, but I’m a very intelligent individual,” he previously told All Hip Hop. “I’m probably misunderstood until you really get around me and talk to me. Because you’ll see, I act a whole different way from what I’m perceived as on the internet.”

MORE ON HOOD TALI

Born and bred in the streets of Philadelphia, Hood Tali’s very first song, “Exotic” earned 10K views in the first week. In the first six months of his career, Hood Tali had already racked up a million views. In 2021, he was recognized by Meek Mill, who offered to sign him and a few other Philly rappers should they agree to a truce on the spiraling street beef. Hood Tali realized he had a real shot at making it in music and was compelled to abandon the streets and focus on his artistry.

Refusing to let his street life affect his newfound success, Hood Tali chose his future over his past and moved to Atlanta to seriously pursue music. He decided to apply the same energy he put into the streets into chasing his dreams and now, with the past behind him and fully focused on his new music journey, Hood Tali is poised to make a major breakthrough in 2022.
