SADBOY LOKO, KAP G AND YBE UNITE FOR SUMMER ANTHEM “PALM TREES”

LOS ANGELES, April 26, 2022 – SadBoy Loko, who was previously signed to YG’s 4Hunnid record label, is joined by Billboard top-charting artist Kap G and YBE for the 2022 summer anthem "Palm Trees." Making its visual premier on WorldStarHipHop, “Palm Trees” is being released through music industry veteran George Prajin’s Prajin Records – the record label SadBoy currently calls home.

Cruising in through the palm trees in a drop-top lowrider, SadBoy, Kap G, and YBE bring this eternal summertime anthem. Worry-free by the coast, surrounded by real ones and baddies, they set the scene, each verse reflecting their own definition of what they've got going on "over here." From the Micheladas being sipped to the Cali being smoked, the visuals reflect each artists' words perfectly. Through the smooth sounds of a keyboard and a clap on the beat, producer Cricket emanates the nostalgic feel to perfectly match the picture painted by SadBoy's words.

“The new generation switched up the LA sound,” says SadBoy Loko, “new faces, new artists… but our sound has a summer vibe.” It’s the summer jam that can be blasted over the speakers at the cookout or be the one to make the trunk shake at the car meet and have everyone nodding along.

It is through his collaboration with Prajin Records’ multi-platinum producer Cricket that SadBoy is bringing to life his upcoming project which features regional music star Lupillo Rivera, as well as corridos artist Jorge Gamboa, Mexican rapper Aleman, and Chicano king of auto-tune MC Magic.

SadBoy’s third release this year, “Palm Trees” follows “Pit Lock”, which already stands at over 900k views on YouTube, and “El Llamado de las Calles,” which features San Diego’s Spanish-rapping Dyablo and Mexican Regional artist Jessie Morales El Original De La Sierra.

The summer vibes in “Palm Trees” and the string of high-streaming singles SadBoy Loko delivers continue to prove the talent and versatility of the accomplished rapper. Having found an equally versatile and creative producer in Cricket, as well as a powerhouse partnership with Prajin Records, SadBoy Loko is sure to continue to create music for the culture.

KAP G BIO

Kap G is a Mexican-American rapper who shatters cultural expectations. Born and raised in Atlanta, hip-hop was entrenched in his upbringing, providing him with a flow different from that of the traditional Chicano rapper. Inspired by veterans like T.I., Gucci Mane, and Jeezy, he began his musical career as part of a group in high school called “Kids At Play'' from where he derived his current moniker “Kap G.” It was his track “Tatted Like Amigos,” which features rapper Chief Keef, that caught the attention of legendary artist and producer Pharell. He was quickly signed to Pharell’s multi-media collective “i am OTHER,” under which he sharpened his skills and further developed his sound. His undeniable talent was recognized when he was selected for the XXL Freshman Class issue, followed by a series of hit singles and collaborations with artists like Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug, Jeezy, Quavo, and Ty Dolla $ign, among others. He went on to tour nationally with R&B sensation Chris Brown. His track “Girlfriend,” which was featured in his EP “El Southside,” went RIAA-certified platinum and turned him into a Billboard top-charting artist. His collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert and Gunna, “Marvelous Day,” went gold. Spreading a message of unity and honesty, Kap G holds authenticity in his music above all else – whether it makes for a fun track or deeper raps. This realness in his music not only earned him the respect of his peers, but led to his working with multi-platinum producer Cricket, and Prajin Records CEO George Prajin. His upcoming feature on “Palm Trees,” set to drop April 22nd, merges his down south Atlanta style with YBE and SadBoy Loko’s West Coast flows, promoting unity through music. His much-anticipated album “Kap on Edge'' is set to be released in May 2022, and with an already impressive catalog of hits, is definitely something to look forward to.

CONNECT WITH YBE

YBE BIO

Rapper YBE is a fast-rising artist out of Southern California, who captivates audiences with the undeniably West Coast style he injects into every aspect of his work. Growing up on the sounds of his mother’s favorite music, he was exposed to the tunes of Los Bukis, Juan Gabriel, and other Latin American greats – but it was the West Coast hip-hop his brothers played that would capture his attention. The smooth raps of Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, and Eazy-E would become the inspiration for YBE’s newfound passion. The way Bone Thugs-N-Harmony fused rap with melodies and 2pac delivered unfiltered, raw rhymes would become the motivation behind YBE’s distinct style. With dedicated passion and unparalleled determination, he began honing his pen skills and was soon recording his tracks in a studio. Citing hard work as the foundation of his career, YBE hopes to be an inspiration to others like himself and break the idea that an artist needs to have gold chains or large budgets to make their dreams happen. As an independent artist, YBE is leading by example. Having made it this far off the strength of his dedication, he wants his perseverance to encourage others to realize that “if you believe in it, you can make it happen.” It is this motivational message that shines through his music, especially in his track called “Dreams,” a heartening story about the struggle of remaining true to your dreams regardless of circumstance. It was through this same hope and persistence that YBE has reached the level he is at today, having worked with legends like The Game, Baby Bash, and Paula DeAnda, as well as modern-day artists such as $tupid Young. His upcoming collaboration with Kap G, and SadBoy Loko, “Palm Trees,” is set to drop on April 22nd and is a guaranteed summer anthem. He’s shared the stage with OGs like Psycho Realm and Berner at the notorious Once Upon a Time in LA Festival and looks forward to many more performances with renowned concert promoter Bobby Dee. With various singles, videos, and even an upcoming vlog in the works, the future looks bright for the gifted West Covina rapper – his unshakable grit paving the way for future successes.
