Scarface's Acclaimed NPR Tiny Desk Concert Comes To Vinyl December 11

LOS ANGELES, CA - October 19, 2026 - Rap-A-Lot Records continues its yearlong 40th Anniversary celebration with the first physical release of Scarface's acclaimed NPR Tiny Desk Concert, bringing one of the Houston legend's most celebrated live performances to vinyl, CD and cassette.
Pre-orders are now live for Scarface: NPR Tiny Desk Concert, arriving December 11, with multiple vinyl configurations available alongside CD and cassette editions. A digital release of the complete performance is also planned in conjunction with the physical street date.
Originally premiering through NPR Music in December 2023, Scarface's Tiny Desk performance offered an intimate new presentation of music spanning his groundbreaking solo career and his work with the Geto Boys. Joined by a live band featuring longtime collaborator and legendary producer Mike Dean on keys, Scarface revisited some of the defining records of his career while sharing the history, perspective and emotion behind the music.
The six-song performance includes "On My Block," "Mary Jane," "Smile," "I Seen a Man Die," "F*** Faces" and the Geto Boys classic "Mind Playing Tricks on Me." The live arrangements place Scarface's storytelling, unmistakable voice and musicianship at the center, offering a fresh perspective on a catalog that has influenced generations of hip-hop artists.
The vinyl editions are housed in a matte-finished, direct-to-board jacket and include an 8x10 black-and-white performance photo of Scarface and Mike Dean. Available configurations include the standard "Live On-Air" edition on clear vinyl with a bone color-in-color effect and the indie-exclusive "Smoke Signal" edition featuring blue, red and black smoke ribbons on clear vinyl. The release will also be available on CD and cassette.
The release marks the latest chapter in Rap-A-Lot's 40th Anniversary campaign, which throughout 2026 has brought renewed attention to the catalog that helped shape Southern hip-hop. The campaign launched with anniversary editions of Scarface's The Diary and Geto Boys' We Can't Be Stopped, followed by Bun B's Trill returning to vinyl for the first time since 2014, Pimp C's Pimpalation making its long-awaited vinyl debut, and the expanded 30th Anniversary Edition of Do Or Die's Picture This.
The anniversary program has paired archival and collector-focused releases with renewed editorial attention around Rap-A-Lot's four-decade legacy, generating coverage across Billboard, UPROXX, Rolling Out, The Vinyl District, RapReviews, One West Magazine and other national and specialty outlets.
As part of the continuing celebration, Rap-A-Lot is also expanding its official YouTube channel with newly upgraded catalog content. The label recently released a digitally remastered version of the Geto Boys classic "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," with additional digitally remastered videos and original versions of classic Rap-A-Lot music videos scheduled to roll out from the label's archives.
The NPR Tiny Desk Concert release adds a live-performance chapter to the anniversary program while placing renewed focus on Scarface, whose solo catalog and groundbreaking work with the Geto Boys remain central to Rap-A-Lot's history and the development of Southern hip-hop.
Additional Rap-A-Lot 40th Anniversary releases, archival material and initiatives will continue to be announced throughout the remainder of the year.
