"What in the World’s the purpose, walking around here nervous….surround yourself with ones that make you feel like you were worth it”
UK producer Montao has returned with his post-apocalyptic posse cut, teaming up with the incredible vocal talent of Slug (Atmosphere), Koncept, and Lane Shuler, plus collaborating on the musical side with underground legend and Wu Tang Clan affiliate -Bronze Nazareth.
The world stage today is a strange and unpredictable place.
This new release moves over vivid musical layers, intertwining perfectly with the barren post apocalyptic landscape presented both through the music, and matches the overall cult anime style of the track.
It kicks off with the introspective and poetic veteran that is Slug of Atmosphere, painting a seamless and eloquent picture in his own unique way.
Next in line, adding some spice is Koncept, ramping up the tempo with his innovative style and flow, paving the way for new kid on the block Lane Shuler who blasts out his take with drama, tension and intensity, creating the perfect ending to an epic piece of work.
The resulting track is a cinematic hiphop masterpiece, sketching out a lucid animated story of the unknown.

Montao - Echoes of the Cosmos (Deluxe Edition)
"Echoes of the Cosmos" is a journey into the void of Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Cinematic soundscapes, Ambient Lo-Fi, Electronica, and elements of Classical.
The brand new Deluxe Edition of the album runs over 15 tracks.
The line-up of collaborations speaks for itself, working with such an undeniable hot bed of talent including: Slug (Atmosphere), Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa, Sa-Roc, Bronze Nazareth, Napoleon Da Legend, Koncept, Copywrite, RoQy TyRaiD, Lane Shuler, and River Nelson.
Having been a life long musician and multi instrumentalist, over the course of his life Montao grew up playing live in a multitude of environments. This included orchestras, jazz bands, funk bands, and renowned mid 2000’s indie rock band ‘elmor’. Following this plethora of live performances and experiences to date, when lockdown hit, it hit hard!
However, out of the darkness came the light, and Montao was born. The name itself derives from the idea of “My Way”, with ‘Mon’ being French for My, and ‘Tao’ in Chinese Philosophy standing for Way.
From putting all his newly found time and energy into music creation and production, thus began the journey.
With thirty five years experience of learning and performing music, plus such an expansive taste and love for a copious amount of genres, it was time to put ‘pen to paper’ and unleash long awaited dormant ideas.
Echoes of the Cosmos shines through putting a fresh new stamp on the music scene, offering a genuinely unique and creative body of work. The album showcases a wide variety of styles and production skills, painting different pictures, musical landscapes and emotions as the listener goes through the fifteen tracks.
Echoes of the Cosmos (Deluxe Edition) is out Friday 21st November.
Also to mark the new release, the album will be available in physical format on vinyl and CD.
The album also drops alongside a brand new merchandise product line: https://montaotunes.com

“When looking back at what I’ve created to this point, it truly encapsulates...me! To have truly expressed myself through my musical ideas, stories, and themes.
I’ve not ‘tried’ to create anything for the sake of it. Everything has come naturally through my love of music, with many of the genres I have grown up meticulously listening to, obsessing over, and learning.
Also, it would be criminal not to mention my life long love for movies, and how that has played a huge part in my creativity over time. It’s impossible not to see this in my music.
This album is my first journey of many to come.”
