Indie Hip-Hop Pioneers Atmosphere Announce a Bold Return to Europe for 2026 via their "Phere & Loathing" Tour

This April 2026, Atmosphere, alongside Sage Francis and ZooDeVille, cross the Atlantic as Phere and Loathing - the unamerican tour 2026, marking their first European and UK tour since May 2023. The return begins in Antwerp, Belgium at Kavka, before continuing through Europe and the United Kingdom. The tour includes a night at London’s Electric Brixton, three dates in Germany spanning Cologne, Hamburg, and Berlin, and a return to Sofia, Bulgaria following their appearance at Sofia Live in 2024. Additional performances take place in Paris, Copenhagen, Warsaw, and Amsterdam, before concluding with first time performances in Athens, Greece at Floyd, and Zagreb, Croatia at Vintage Industrial.

Slug of Atmosphere writes: Excited to return with my friends to rap for you and your friends. Let’s be friends. Looking forward to your coffee and chocolate and bread.

The European announcement follows the launch of the Minneapolis duo’s Winter Carnival Tour, which runs across the U.S. from January through February 2026 and celebrates 30 years of music, coming on the heels of their latest album, Jestures (released September 2025). Alongside the Phere and Loathing announcement, Slug and Ant also dropped a new video for “Zorro” featuring ZooDeVille. It continues a recent streak of visuals, including “Really,” which finds Slug attempting a left-field career shift as a stunt double, and the standout “Grateful,” where he plays a megachurch pastor leading a congregation in search of salvation at a price.

Sage Francis, founder of Strange Famous Records, is a key figure of the early 2000s underground hip hop movement, earning acclaim through battle circuit victories, spoken word roots, and a catalog led by the landmark release Personal Journals. The Phere and Loathing Tour marks a long awaited return to Europe and his first time touring the region with Atmosphere.

Sage writes: “I've toured Europe many times but never with Atmosphere and never in a bus. Maybe I'll actually have some time to absorb and enjoy the vibe of each country this time through. If not, no biggie. The goal is to rock the hell out of the stage and hopefully win over some new fans while reconnecting with old fans. This feels like such a treat for me as I don't get to travel much now that I'm married with three kids. I've got to make the most of it as possible.”

ZooDeVille is a musician and cinematographer raised in Vacaville, California and based in Los Angeles, known for moving fluidly between sound and image and for his role in founding the NOFUN! collective. After an extensive European tour with NOFUN! in summer 2025, Zoo returns to the region ready to build on that momentum.

ZooDeVille writes: “I'm excited to do another run with Atmosphere, back in Europe again. I'm even more excited to play in some of the cities I got to play last summer with the full NOFUN! crew, I have a bunch of new music I'm ready to play for everyone!”

For three decades, Atmosphere have maintained a steady and rigorous creative output, releasing dozens of studio albums, EPs, and collaborative projects across nearly as many years. In a genre where longevity is rare and trends shift quickly, the duo have built a career rooted in honesty, humility, and vulnerability, continually evolving without losing sight of their foundations. Slug’s storytelling and narrative writing have left a clear imprint on independent hip hop, balancing personal reflection with respect for the artists and traditions that shaped him, while Atmosphere as a whole have focused less on chasing moments and more on building something that lasts. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop’s pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.
